Romantic Surprise Proposal at Po'olenalena Beach | Maui Engagement Photographer

Ron reached out while planning a trip to Maui from Florida, hoping to surprise Sam with a proposal during their vacation. After discussing a few locations, we decided that Po'olenalena Beach in the Wailea/Makena area Maui would be the perfect setting. With its golden sand, lava rocks, palm trees, and peaceful atmosphere, it's one of my favorite locations on Maui for a surprise proposal.

To make the moment even more memorable, Ron arranged for a beautiful half-circle arch of white roses, creating an elegant and romantic backdrop overlooking the ocean.

When Ron got down on one knee, Sam was completely surprised. Her joyful reaction was heartfelt and emotional, making it such a privilege to quietly document such an important moment in their lives.

After giving them a few minutes to celebrate together, we continued with a relaxed engagement session around the beach. Rather than focusing on stiff poses, we spent the evening walking along the shoreline, laughing, and simply enjoying the beautiful Maui sunset. Those authentic interactions are always my favorite to photograph because they tell the real story of the couple.

The result was a gallery filled with romantic, candid, and timeless images that perfectly captured both the excitement of the proposal and the quiet moments that followed.
