I recommend wearing outfits that fit well and make you feel confident and comfortable. Neutral, solid colors photograph best, but subtle prints are totally fine on 1-2 people (or just one person in a couple). Some good options include dusty pink, pale or deep blues, soft muted greens, and neutrals like beige, cream, white, or gray.
Choose 2-3 complementary colors and spread them across the family’s outfits. Try to avoid all white outfits - they can wash out in bright beach light.
If possible, avoid sunburns or noticeable tan lines before your session, since they can be difficult to edit. And for beach sessions - barefoot is always best!

The best time for a beach photoshoot on Maui is during sunrise or sunset. Both sunset and sunrise sessions offer beautiful lighting conditions for photography.
Sunrise sessions have a soft, peaceful feel with a pastel color palette. The beach is usually quiet and uncrowded. The downside is that you have to wake up early to catch the sunrise, which can be challenging for some people.
Sunset sessions have a warmer, more vibrant feel with a rich color palette. The beach is usually busier and the light is more dramatic. The sun sets quickly, so we have a limited amount of time to capture your shots.
-
The weather on Maui is unpredictable and may change every 5-10 minutes! I typically do not cancel the session unless it becomes unsafe to continue. Oftentimes, cloudy or slightly rainy conditions can create a unique and moody atmosphere for your photos. However, if the weather conditions are severe or if we mutually agree that rescheduling is necessary, we will work together to find an alternative date that suits both of us.
-
Absolutely! If you have a specific location in mind, please let me know during the planning process, and we will discuss the possibility and any potential permits required. I am also happy to suggest locations that suit your vision.

Currently, I accept cash, checks, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal as payment methods. A $100 deposit is required to secure your session, and the remaining balance is due on the day of the shoot.
